As a Sydney still life photographer I help keep my creative interest by regularly booking in time for personal projects also know as test shoots. Some of these would be of art level and others more for an execution exercise. My subjects can be still life, food, beverage or a total left of field nature. A little bit neat is one of these projects I would like to share with you.

As a still life photographer on my commercial projects I often find myself working to perfect alignment, placement and position which is what has driven this inspiration. Like they say, ‘A place for everything and everything in its place’.

I have taken everyday items and used their colour pallets to create these “neat” compositions. to keep simplicity I have also match background colours to the items using various colours paper background with adjustments in retouching. I love that these images turn everyday items into an interesting series.
