As a Sydney food photographer some of the products we shoot on commercial projects are frozen, think frozen packaged food or an ingredient that is only available in Australia frozen e.g. cranberries. We then use the expertise of a food stylist to bring the product to life on set. It was during one of these moments that I was inspired in the process of change that occurred from frozen to fresh. From a far there were subtle changes over time but in detail review these changes became almost magical.

With Summer warming up I used the inspiration and created a stop motion series of frozen berries over a 30 minute period. Captured on the Sinar P3 system under consistent Profoto lighting the camera was locked off and consecutive images captured. The moment from icey frozen to thawed is my favourite. I then used iMovie to make the quick stop motion video.
